Description of Resort

Hemsedal's idyllic mountain location amidst the Hallingdal Valley has established this resort as Norway's premiere ski and snowboard destination. The ski area boasts one of the highest and consistent snowfall levels in Europe offering Snow Sure conditions from early November until early May. Hemsedal Village posses an alpine charm all its own with an unhurried, relaxed atmosphere within a natural unspoilt setting. With average lift queue times of 2-3 minutes you will be skiing or boarding your way down wide open expanses of snow covered mountain.

Ski Guide

Beginners - Excellent: Hemsedal features an excellent beginners area enabling new starters to master skiing or snowboarding in complete comfort and safety. All instructors from the ski school are English speaking and provide first class instruction.

Intermediate - Excellent: Skiers and snowboarders at this level will be thrilled at the choice and challenge the slopes have to offer. You can enjoy the breathtaking views before breaking away down the many exciting fast and smooth red slopes or long and wide blue’s.

Advanced - Excellent: The unrivalled off piste areas Hemsedal offers will exceed the expectations of even the most experienced skiers and snowboarders, couple with this the challenging black and red slopes and you are set for some extreme action.

Snowboard Guide

Excellent: Hemsedal's Fun Park offers, big hits, fun boxes, quarter pipes, rails and 2 half pipes. The Fun Park is 600m long and 50m wide, and is the best of its kind in Scandinavia. Excellent instruction is also available. The slopes are renowned for International snowboarding and big air events which are regularly staged in Hemsedal.

Cross Country Guide

Good: A good choice for cross country skiers of all abilities with linked terrain set within 3 locations in and around Hemsedal (all within a 15 minute bus ride) and serviced by a free ski bus. Over 200 km of cut tracks to explore.
