Is Norway a very expensive place to
ski?
Norway has a reputation for being an expensive country
however with recent global economic changes the £ has remained
relatively stable against the NOK (Norwegian Kroner). This means
that prices have not increased to the same extent as other European
resorts within the Euro zone, and in some cases Norwegian resorts
are much cheaper than other European ski destinations.
How long is the flight from the UK to
Norway?
2hours from London - 1 hour from Scotland
I'm thinking of taking my family
skiing for the first time, is Norway a good
choice?
Norway is a paradise for families. Children are especially
well catered for with exclusive clubs, activities and crèche
facilities. The skiing is safe and gentle with separate skiing
areas especially for young children. Most resorts offer free
children's lift passes all season long.
About Skiing
in Norway
What are the ski schools like in
Norway?
Quite simply - Excellent. Lessons are in English with
qualified, patient, sympathetic instructors
Do the slopes get busy during peak
weeks?
No, the slopes are very quiet even during peak weeks in
comparison to most Alp resorts as the number of skiers are limited
by the amount of accommodation available.
Can I pre-book lift passes, ski rental
& ski school (ski pack)?
Yes, we recommend pre-booking your ski pack with us as we
can arrange the best ski school times, preferred ski fit (no
queuing at ski rental) and your lift pass collected and ready to
use on the day of your arrival. There is no charge for this service
when ski packs are pre-booked.
Do I need any special clothing for
skiing in Norway?
No, as with skiing anywhere you will need windproof,
waterproof and warm ski wear. It is best to follow the rule of many
layers opposed to one big heavy jacket for example. Thermal
underwear and thermal socks are a must as they will work with your
body to keep you warm. Helmets are provided free of charge from all
ski rentals.
