aboard the MS Sjøveien

Norway’s rugged coastline is the ultimate ski touring destination and what better way to access the mountains than via your own private cruise ship. The newly renovated MS Sjøveien provides a luxury setting to travel along the Norwegian fjords or between the islands of the Arctic Haute route whilst skiing untouched lines. The fully tailored ski-touring experience aboard MS Sjøveien will allow you to explore untouched snow in the famous Norwegian Fjords, the Arctic coast or Svalbard.

Private Sail & Ski Charter

For groups of up to 12 looking for something truly iconic then a Private Ski and Sail Holiday with skiNorway is the ultimate experience. Suitable for private groups, corporate events and those in search of the pinnacle of luxury travel experiences, everything on the 3 night tour will be tailored completely to you and your group.

Your 2 on board guides will pick out the best local ascents and descents based on the snow and weather each day, to ensure you have the finest conditions. You will spend each evening on the ship, where you can relax and enjoy your private après ski as you sail to your next destination. You’ll enjoy high-quality food on board for your breakfast and evening meal, and take a packed lunch during your ski-touring days. All you will have to think about is having a fantastic time.

Ski-touring in the Norwegian Fjords

The boat will be operating out of Ålesund from February to mid-March, with private ski-touring in Sognefjorden and Hjørundfjorden. Sognefjord is Norway’s largest fjord and is renowned for its endless number of breath-taking peaks, ideal for those new to ski-touring as well as experienced skiers. Hjørundfjorden, surrounded by the Sunnmore alps, has peaks reaching above 1500masl, perfect if you’re looking for challenging ascents and dramatic drops.

Ski-touring in the Arctic Haute Route

From mid-March to April, the ship will operate along the Arctic Haute Route and Lyngen Alps. The Arctic Haute route offers summit-to-sea skiing on the islands of Lofoten, Andørja, Senja and Kvaløya. The route provides a dramatic backdrop as you ascend to peaks rising to over 1000masl, and ski right down to the shores of the North Atlantic Ocean. The Lyngen Alps are located east of Tromso with peaks up to 1800masl and offer exclusive ski terrain which can only be accessed by boat.

Ski-touring in Svalbard

May 2018 will see the ship travel to Svalbard, the world’s most adventurous ski destination. The rugged, remote terrain, which ascends from dramatic glaciers and vast icefields, is an expedition through the Arctic wilderness. Svalbard is ideal for experienced ski-tourers who are looking for an exclusive new adventure.
