New Year's Eve ski holidays in Norway 2019-20

Make New Year’s Eve 2019-20 one to remember with a luxury ski holiday to Trysil or Norefjell in Norway. There’s nothing quite like a skiing holiday to see in the New Year, and by choosing to join skiNorway on one of our Award Winning Holidays you will escape the crowded slopes elsewhere in Europe and experience our renowned services.

New Year’s Skiing Holiday in Norway

There is a fun and vibrant atmosphere in Norway for the New Year, making it a great place to celebrate and ski. The ski lifts run every day and you’ll discover the slopes are wonderfully quiet which means you’re free to make the most of the day skiing.

If you are still raring to go in the evenings, and the allure of the pool, sauna and other excellent resort amenities aren’t quite enough, you can also try out night skiing on floodlit slopes.

Optional Activities

Husky sledding

Husky sledding is an iconic part of Scandinavian culture and is a great way to experience the stunning scenery from a different perspective. Husky sledding adventures are available from most of our resorts so speak to your skiNorway expert for more information and to book.

Star gazing in Trysil

Norway has low levels of light pollution which is great for experiencing the night sky in a way you might not have before. If you’re lucky the Northern Lights can sometimes be seen from Trysil. Star gazing must be booked in resort as it’s weather dependent, so contact your skiNorway resort representative during your stay.

Cross-country skiing

Another iconic Scandinavian pastime is cross-country skiing, and it really is an enjoyable way to immerse yourself in the local nature and culture. Lessons and equipment hire are widely available in advance and in resort, so contact your skiNorway expert for more information.

Horse sleigh ride

Listen to the sounds of the horses’ bells and enjoy magical evening as you glide across the snow to your destination in the snow-capped forest. You’ll stop at a traditional hut – a canvass wrapped Scandinavian tepee warmed by an open fire – for a hearty dinner of stew or sausages in this magical setting. Once you’ve had your fill it’s back to the sleds for the cosy journey home, wrapped in reindeer furs against the starry night.
